Big Lashes, Small Sacrifice

Everyone wants long, thick lashes. The truth is, you may already have them!

Big Lashes, Small Sacrifice

I noticed over the summer that my lashes were getting shorter and shorter. I wasn’t doing anything different to make this happen, so you know what that means. Experiment time!

First, I decided to stop wearing mascara for awhile. Blasphemous, I know. I didn’t think the mascara itself was damaging them, but maybe I was ripping them off while removing the mascara. I use baby oil to remove eye makeup (it’s conditioning, right?) But I was desperate, so let’s see.

I cut down to only wearing mascara maybe once week for almost 3 months. At the same time, I discovered Montecito Cosmetics Sublim’Oil. The main ingredient is castor oil, and nothing but good things comes from that. You can use Sublim’Oil on your lashes, brows, as a hair treatment, even use it on your cuticles.

Every night before bed, I brushed a very small amount onto my lashes and brows with a disposable mascara brush. If I put too much on, I used my ring finger to tap into  the rest of my eye area.

The results weren’t instant; I noticed a difference after about 2 weeks. My lashes were definitely longer, thicker and surprisingly, even darker! I also had to pluck my brows more often, but no one complains about brows being too thick.

I can’t live without mascara forever, so back I went. But I continue to use Sublim’Oil every night to hopefully mitigate any drying effects of mascara and the physical damage of removing it. Highly recommended!
