This is the one you’ve most likely seen or heard of if you watch infomercials. She also has a book that can be bought in major bookstores called “Be a Loser.” Her name is Greer Childers, a tall, very blonde and very thin woman, who sells Body Flex. Her promise? You will lose 4 inches in 7 days, or some other claim similar to that.

The first week doing it I lost 3 inches. It wasn’t the 4 inches she promised, but still. If any of you religiously measure yourself monthly as I have since 1995, you would know it is not POSSIBLE to lose 3 inches in one week, except that I did. In one month I lost 7 inches. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but I assure you, previous to this I had never lost more than 2 inches in one month from doing anything, including starving myself. So I was impressed.
Breathe In….Breathe Out…Ok now do it Again…
What do you do? It came with 2 tapes for about $40. It costs less now. The first tape is instructional: how to do the Body Flex Breath, and how to do the positions. Oh yes, you’re not just sitting there breathing; you have to put your body in certain positions so you can get the oxygen down into that part. You can get results without the positions, but why not get a tight butt at the same time? I don’t know what the technical term is for the kind of breathing this is, but she didn’t invent it. Pretty sure some Yogi did.
For each position, you do 3 breaths. So if there are 10 positions, you are actually doing the breath 30 times. That should take you about 15 minutes, and is considered a total Body Flex workout.
Some of the positions include pressing your hands together so you work out your biceps. Or leaning over to your side so you stretch your waist. The positions are actually just stretches that you hold. You’re not moving up or down or side to side. The positions are stationary.
Sounds easy right? It’s not hard, but it is challenging. Some of the positions are hard to hold. They don’t hurt, but this is not for wimps, either. I warn you: Body Flex breathing MAKES NOISE. You’re forcefully pushing air in and out of your lungs, you’re turning red and sweating from holding your breath, then you’re gasping for air to start breathing again.
I don’t suggest you do this in front of anyone. Not attractive. But what exercise is? (Actually there are some that are sexy, but that’s a different story.) Body Flex is almost violent, but if it works, who can argue with results?
Check out the website, I’m not making this up.
